Benjamin Layne is a former theatre producer and director, currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Michelle is a Board-Certified music therapist and 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance. Michelle has practiced music therapy for four years specializing in working with adults over 65 and neurodivergent populations (including individuals with Autism) from ages 3 to 21. Michelle is trained in using music as a modality for therapeutic healing and achievement of functional treatment goals. Michelle is also trained in MBSR, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and incorporates concepts of mindfulness and somatic awareness to promote healing and growth. In her previous career, Rita worked 20+ years full-time in the corporate business world while also working in retail sales part-time. This allows her to bring a unique perspective regarding various workplace issues. She identifies as an African American/Black, heterosexual, Christian female. She is governed by Biblical principles and willing to integrate them into counseling sessions IF a client desires to. She is open to seeing clients of any or no religious faith affiliation.
