The clinical and administrative staff of Relate Counseling Center have been consumed with feelings of anger, grief, fear and helplessness this past week after the murder of George Floyd and the subsequent unrest in Minneapolis and St. Paul and across our nation.
In the spirit of Relate’s 51 year mission – caring professionals committed to helping change lives and building community – we stand in solidarity with all people of color. Relate as an organization condemns acts of discrimination and racism in all its forms including structural, and is committed to nurturing inclusive communities that promote equity and socially just practices.
While we serve the West Metro Community, our staff, family members and friends live in the areas impacted most by the events of the last few days. Several of our clinicians have been providing on-site crisis counseling in affected areas and while we are all processing the events of the past week we will continue to monitor the situation and intend to offer free counseling support over the next few weeks to help those affected.
Relate is here as a resource for those needing mental health assistance during these difficult times. Please contact or administrative staff at 952-932-7277 for more information.
With love and in solidarity,
The staff of Relate Counseling Center
