Michelle is a Master of Social Work student at St. Catherine University and a school-based practicum therapist with Relate Counseling Center. She brings a diverse background in supporting children and families, with experience as a teacher in Sweden and as a birth doula supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the transition to parenthood. These experiences have shaped Michelle’s passion for supporting children and families as they navigate life’s transitions and challenges. Michelle believes that connection and trust are at the heart of meaningful therapeutic relationships. She strives to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where students feel heard, understood, and supported. Her approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, with an emphasis on meeting each student where they are and building on their existing strengths to foster emotional growth and resilience. Outside of Relate, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and traveling.
