Ashley has a special interest in working in perinatal mental health, which is when mental health concerns arise with those who are trying to conceive, currently pregnant, or those who have recently given birth. This interest became even more apparent after Ashley experienced her own perinatal mental health concerns after a traumatic pregnancy and birth of their child. This stage of life is a significant and personal time that can bring up many feelings and experiences, such as but not limited to new or exacerbated mental health concerns (anxiety, depression, OCD, etc.), traumatic pregnancies and/or birth, a loss of child and/or miscarriage, struggles with fertility, and the typical parenting highs and lows.
