Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a short-term, evidence-based behavior management program designed for children experiencing emotional and/or behavioral difficulties and their caregivers. PCIT teaches caregivers to manage challenging child behaviors, while increasing positive behaviors. Goals of PCIT include:

-improving relationships between children and their caregivers

-increasing children’s self-esteem

-helping children build skills for improved self-regulation, including managing and reducing anger, attention and organization, and positive social interaction

-helping children learn to follow directions

PCIT is appropriate for children ages 2 1/2 to 6. Sessions occur weekly for 12-20 weeks. Please contact Relate for additional information or to schedule an appointment.
