School Services Practicum Student
St. Louis Park School District
Rachel is a Master of Social Work student at the University of Minnesota with a deep passion for supporting children and families. Before beginning her graduate training, she spent seven years as an elementary special education teacher, where she gained firsthand experience working closely with children from diverse backgrounds and collaborating with their families. Guided by a trauma-informed, child-centered lens, Rachel focuses on meeting kids where they are — honoring their unique strengths, experiences, and needs. She believes healing and growth happen within supportive relationships and, to foster connection and lasting change, incorporates parents and caregivers into the therapeutic process whenever possible. Rachel is dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate environment where children can feel seen, heard, and supported. Outside of her professional life, Rachel loves traveling and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys running, caring for her plants, snuggling up with her cat, and embroidery.
