A Group for Self Discovery & Empowerment for Young Women

Ages 16 to 21

The purpose of the group is to assist young women toward exploration of the special qualities, experiences, and strengths that make them who they are.  Each young woman will take a journey of self-discovery - a journey in which she and a group of other young women will share hopes, struggles and stories.  Learn how to stay connected with who she is - her true self - which can be challenging in a world that does not always support young women - learn how to support one another and find your VOICES!!!

Topic 2:  The World Girls Live In 

Topic 3:  My Family

Topic 4:  Mothers and Daughters 

Topic 5:  Friendship & Communication  

Topic 6:  Dating and Sexuality 

Topic 7:  Supportive vs. Abusive Relationships 

Topic 8:  Our Bodies  

Topic 9:  Emotional Wellness 

Topic 10:  Alcohol and Other Drugs 

Time

Every Thursday from 5 - 6:30 p.m.

Time Period:  Ten Weeks

Structure:  Open - Ended 

Voices Group new member rotation is on a 5-week interval.  Commitment to full ten weeks required.   

Costs

$10.00 co-pay per week.

CONNECTIONS

Information Sessions about Parenting Young Women

All Ages Welcome

Mothers of young women will gather to gain information and support in the parenting process of young women today.  Mothers will learn more about the brain development of all young adults, target increasing empathy levels and obtain suppport in parenting different kinds of young women in today's society.   We hope for greater awareness of the connections between daughters and mothers.

GROUP TOPICS

Month 1:  Understanding Your Teenager

Month 2:  Emancipation Struggles

Month 3:  The Journey Ahead

TIME

Every third Thursday of the month, from 5 - 6:30 p.m.

One-time a month, for three consecutive months

Structure:  Open-ended

Any mother of young women is invited to attend these sessions.

COSTS

$10.00 per week
